Kalua 1 Rio Negro

Fishing on the famous mighty Rio Negro form the Rio Branco to Santa Isabel here you will find many lagoons and ox bows and it’s tributaries like the Cuiuni, Caures, Padauari, Demeni, Araca, Atani, Itu and the Arirarra and very special trips out of Santa Isabel (SIRN) fishing the way up towards San Gabriel da Cachoeira. The Kalua 1 also fishes the exclusive Jufari river off the Rio Branco system where you can find big numbers along with big fish. In your 6 days of fishing, here you will find good fishing for peacock bass (tucunare) with different species like azul, tememsis (paca) and butterfly along bicuda, arawanas, piranhas and several varieties of catfish like Pirara (red tail) Piraiba (big blue cats). Here you will find very good numbers if conditions are right. Capacity is 14 and the comfort is excellent with a dining area, air conditioned salon and a top deck for sharing the daily stories. 6 full days of fishing. Appetizers await you after a long day fishing. Breakfast every day that consists of eggs, different types of meats, toast, fresh fruits, fresh juices and local Brazilian favorites. Lunch consists of sandwiches to your liking or you can return to the mothership for a hot lunch. Dinner during the week consists of salad, beef, chicken, fish, pasta, rice, beans and finally dessert, local beverages included during your stay on the boat, a Garson is here to make your favorite drinks at night. Daily maid and laundry service and all rooms have separate air conditioning and hot and refreshing showers. The Kalua 1 has an excellent staff and caters to your every need. Charter flight from Manaus is about 1.5 hours and a short road trip to the boat. Those who have been fishing with me in the past will find familiar faces here. The package also includes 2 nights in Manaus and last night dinner in Barcelos. All airport transfers and RT charter flights to Barcelos and 2 nights in Manaus included.

Services not included: international flights, medications, fishing licenses in Barcelos and Santa Isabel, satellite phones, visits to local villages must be made in advance, lures any breakage of fishing equipment.

Day 1- arrive in Manaus, overnight
Day 2 charter flight to Barcelos or Santa Isabel ½ day fishing
Day 3 to 7 – 5 full days fishing
Day 8 ¾ day fishing, dinner in Barcelos or Santa Isabel
Day 9 early morning fight to Manaus, hotel to rest or an optional tour on request, early morning flight home.
